"Not in Cascais itself but none the worse for that"
A perfect Holiday apartment, literally 2 minutes from the beach, helpful and flexible organiser and landlord. We didn't regret not being in Cascais itself because if you want lots of shops, restaurants and crowds they are all in Cascais 5 minutes down the line. As a couple without kids we didn't need a car but went everywhere by foot (small but adequate organic supermarket 5 minutes away), bus - to Sintra, don't miss it - or train to Cascais and Lisbon.
The apartment is spacious, well equipped and has a really comfy bed. A good internet connection and excellent satellite tv made my husband very happy too, while I appreciated the wonderful view and morning light off the balcony in the morning and the very short walk to the beach.
One thing - if you go with small children, the sea is not safe for little ones - the beach slopes sharply, getting deep very quickly, and there is a very strong undertow.
Estoril has a great tourist office with staff full of ideas and helpful information, there are nice beach restaurants if you want something close and Cascais is alive with eateries and shops of all sorts.
All in all a really lovely Holiday. Thank you Gualdino and Marisa!Deborah Whittaker - France |
